The course takes place in the city of Vinkovci, Croatia, one of the oldest European cities, and it consists of three sessions. The first session was held on January 26-28, 2022 and it was attended by 14 trainees.

The training course is funded by Vinkovci City Hall through Technology Park Vinkovci, named by the hosts #ECST. The team of lecturers, together with the hosts, has set up an indoor laboratory and an outdoor polygon that simulate fiber optic networks, giving learnes the opportunity to be trained to run fiber optic networks.

The local authorities seek to specialize the workforce so the latter can execute the work for the implementation of a project funded by the European Union. Through this project, a national fiber optic network consisting of FTTH and transport networks will be implemented, which is why the trainees are the following: employees of different companies, students and unemployed people.
